To Update Ad-Aware:
|
1. Double click the icon on your desktop
2. Click the World icon, located between the padlock and ”i” in the upper right-hand portion of the window.
3. Click Connect
-NOTE-
You must be connected to the internet for updates to be available.
4. If there is an update, click Okay to download it. Otherwise, it will say that there are no available updates.
5. Once the update is done, click Finish.

To Run Ad-Aware:
|
1. Click the Start button located near the bottom right-hand area of the window.
2. Make sure “Perform full system scan” is selected
3. Click “Next”, and allow Ad-Aware to scan. This may take a few minutes.
4. Once it is finished, click “Next” to view the list of files detected.
5. Right click one of the files, and select “Select all objects” which is the fifth or sixth listed item in the menu.
6. Click “Next” then “Okay” when the window pops up telling you the number of items that will be removed.
7. Ad-Aware will quarantine the selected items.

To Update Spybot S&D
|
1. Click the Update button, which is the World icon located to the lower left portion of the window.
2. Click “Search for Updates” near the top of the window.
-NOTE-
You must be connected to the internet for updates to be available.
3. Once it is done searching for updates, they will be listed at the bottom. Click the check boxes to select them, and then at the top of the screen, click “Download Updates.”

To Run Spybot S&D
|
1. Click “Check for problems”
2. Allow the program to scan, which can take a few minutes.
3. Once it is finished, make sure all objects have checks next to them.
4. To remove selected items, click “Fix selected problems” located next to the “Check for problems” button.
5. Click Yes
6. Click Ok.
7. If Spybot offers to scan again on the next reboot of your computer due to the inability to fix all of the problems, click Yes. Note that on your next boot-up, it will take significantly longer due to the scan occurring before your system fully boots up.
