REDUCE MALWARE INFECTIONS

To reduce malware infections and keep your computer clean, download, install and update the following FREE programs. If the links listed below do not work, then simply search for the program from www.download.com

CCLEANER

Ccleaner, formerly known as “Crap Cleaner” is used to manually find and delete temporary Internet files, cookies and other files that provide hiding places for malware and can slow down the computer.

  1. Install the program using all the defaults.
  2. Open Ccleaner and click the “Run Cleaner” button located in the bottom right corner. Do NOT check any additional boxes listed in the left pane!
  3. Allow the program to run and finish. Be patient because this can take several minutes.
  4. The program will finish and display “CLEANING COMPLETE”.
  5. Close the program.

MALWAREBYTES

Malwarebytes is a program that finds and allows you to delete all malware as listed in their database.

  1. Install the program using the defaults.
  2. Open the program and click the radio button to the left of “Perform full scan”, then click the “SCAN” button. We recommend a full scan after the program is first installed. You can then choose “Perform a quick scan” for subsequent scans and maintenance.
  3. Allow the scan to finish. Be patient.
  4. Click “OK” if the scan found nothing harmful, then close the notepad window that opens, finally close Malwarebytes.
    OR….
  5. Click “OK” if the scan found harmful objects, then click “Show Results”, then “Remove Selected”, then close the notepad window that opens, and, finally, close Malwarebytes.
  6. We recommend that you update the program before every scan.

SUPERANTISPYWARE

Superantispyware is a program that finds and allows you to delete all malware as listed in their database.

  1. Install the program using the defaults.
  2. Open the program and click “Scan your Computer” button, then the radio button to the left of “Perform Complete Scan”, then click the “Next” button. We recommend a full scan after the program is first installed. You can then choose “Perform a quick scan” for subsequent scans and maintenance.
  3. Allow the scan to finish. Be patient.
  4. Click “OK”, then “Next” to remove the infected items. If prompted, click “Yes” to reboot the computer. if the scan found nothing harmful, then close the program.
  5. We recommend that you update the program before every scan
